This 330ml bottle contains Belgian Flanders Red Style Ale, named Duchesse de Bourgogne, with 6.2% ABV. It is a blend of 8 and 18 month old ale, carefully aged in oak casks. This refreshingly sour and fruity beer has flavours of apples and raisins, with a long, dry and acidic finish. It is brewed in honour of Mary of Burgundy, daughter of Charles the Bold, Duke of Burgundy. Mary's marriage to Archduke Maximilian of Austria brought peace to the region, but her untimely death while falconing is represented by the falcon on the label. This traditional Flemish red ale is matured in oak casks for 12 months before bottling.
